Granola Introduces People and Companies Views to Track Meeting Threads Over Time

Granola has launched People and Companies views, a new navigation feature that consolidates meeting notes by relationship rather than chronology. The update, announced on LinkedIn, aims to help users track the evolution of conversations across multiple meetings with the same person or organization.

The new views appear in Granola's sidebar, allowing users to click on a contact or company and immediately surface every note associated with them. Rather than searching through scattered entries or relying on memory, users can now see the full arc of a relationship in one interface.

Why Meeting Context Gets Lost

Most note-taking tools organize information chronologically. You meet with a client in January, again in March, and once more in June. Each session generates a separate note. When you need to recall what you discussed three months ago or prepare for the next conversation, you're stuck scrolling through unrelated meetings or using search.

Granola's approach shifts the lens. Instead of asking "what happened on Tuesday," the tool now answers "what have I discussed with Sarah over the past six months" or "what's the history of our conversations with Acme Corp." For anyone managing ongoing client relationships, sales cycles, or partner discussions, that shift matters.

The feature builds on Granola's core AI note-taking functionality, which already captures and structures meeting content. Now that data gets reorganized around people and entities, not just dates.

How It Works in Practice

When you open Granola's sidebar, you'll find two new sections: People and Companies. Click on a name, and the interface displays every note where that person or organization appeared. The view aggregates information automatically; no tagging or manual organization required.

This matters most for roles that depend on relationship continuity. Account managers can review every touchpoint with a customer before a renewal conversation. Recruiters can trace the progression of a candidate relationship across multiple interviews. Consultants can pull up the full engagement history with a client without digging through folders.

The feature complements Granola's existing capabilities, including Recipes for reusable AI workflows and the Shared With Me view for team collaboration. Where Recipes help you standardize how you process notes and Shared With Me keeps you updated on others' conversations, People and Companies focuses on long-term context.

Granola positions itself as an AI notepad for users in back-to-back meetings. The tool already integrates with Google Forms, calendar platforms, and Notion for exporting notes. The company has been steadily adding features that emphasize relationship intelligence over one-off transcription.

The update is available now to all Granola users. According to the LinkedIn post, the views are accessible directly from the sidebar with no additional setup required.
