Notion users can now hand off tasks to Cursor without leaving their workspace. The integration, announced on LinkedIn, allows teams to tag specs or assign tasks that Cursor executes and turns into pull requests for review.
The functionality runs on the Cursor SDK, meaning every cloud agent uses the same models, harness, and runtime that power Cursor itself. Users simply mention @Cursor in any Notion document or assign it a task, and the AI agent handles the technical implementation. The resulting PRs appear ready for team review, bridging the gap between specification and code.
Built on Notion's Developer Platform
The integration leverages Notion's Developer Platform, which the company introduced to give developers and agents new building blocks for extending the workspace. The platform provides a CLI, Workers for syncing external data sources, and the ability to build custom tools for agents.

Cursor detailed the technical implementation in a blog post explaining how Notion built the integration using the SDK. The SDK approach means developers can create similar agent capabilities using the same infrastructure that powers Cursor's core product.
This fits into Notion's broader push toward AI-native operations, as seen in their Finance 2.0 framework and their recent ability to duplicate custom agents. The company continues expanding how teams can embed AI directly into their workflows.
Workflow Impact
The integration targets teams that spec out features or fixes in Notion before writing code. Rather than context-switching between documentation and development environments, technical and non-technical team members can now initiate development tasks from the same place they define requirements.
Developers still review and merge the resulting code. The AI handles the translation from specification to implementation, but human oversight remains central to the workflow. Teams using Notion as a source of truth for product specs gain a more direct path from documented requirements to working code.
The Cursor SDK documentation includes examples for syncing data sources like Zendesk tickets and building custom tools that generate assets or query live data. Engineers at companies including OpenAI, Figma, Ramp, and Vercel already use the platform, according to Notion's developer site.
Notions's move positions it alongside other workspace tools racing to embed AI agents. The difference here is execution happens in the code editor environment teams already use, rather than within Notion itself. That architectural choice keeps the workspace focused on documentation and coordination while delegating technical implementation to specialized tools.
