Project timelines break in predictable ways. Change one deadline, and tasks downstream slip out of sync. Move a milestone, and suddenly three team members are double-booked. Agencies and consulting firms know the drill: open multiple tools, manually adjust dates, hope nothing slips through.
Noloco has rebuilt its Gantt chart timeline view to eliminate that manual cleanup. The update, announced on LinkedIn, introduces automatic timeline adjustments, visible task dependencies, and real-time resource allocation alerts.
How the Updated Timeline View Works
The redesigned Gantt chart centers on three core behaviors. When a user changes a task date, the system recalculates dependent tasks automatically. If Task B relies on Task A, moving Task A shifts Task B without manual intervention. Dependencies display visually, showing which tasks will cascade if a date moves.
The view also surfaces resource conflicts immediately. If adjusting a timeline overbooks a team member, Noloco flags the issue in the chart. This eliminates the need to cross-reference separate capacity trackers or spreadsheets.
Noloco positions the feature as part of its broader push toward agency operations management. The company has previously introduced native time tracking for billing workflows and launched Nola, an AI assistant for client management. The Gantt update extends that focus to project planning and execution.
Why Agencies Need Automatic Timeline Adjustments
Service firms typically juggle multiple concurrent client projects. A single date change in one project can ripple across deliverables, team assignments, and dependencies. Traditional tools like spreadsheets or static Gantt charts require users to trace those ripples manually.
Noloco's approach automates the recalculation. The system treats dependencies as dynamic links rather than static entries. When a predecessor task moves, successors adjust automatically. This reduces the risk of outdated timelines reaching clients or causing internal misalignment.
The resource allocation feature addresses a second common failure point. Agencies often discover overbookings only after assigning work, requiring last-minute shuffling or missed deadlines. Surfacing conflicts during planning lets teams resolve issues before they become operational problems.
Integration with Existing Workflows
Noloco builds apps on top of existing business data, including databases like Airtable, Supabase, and Xano. The Gantt chart pulls from those data sources, meaning timeline views reflect the same underlying project records as other parts of a Noloco app.
This matters for firms already using automation tools. Teams running workflows through Make, Zapier, or n8n can continue those integrations while using Noloco's timeline view for visualization and planning. The platform recently added n8n support, expanding automation options.
The update is available now to all Noloco users. Pricing starts at free for basic projects, with team and business plans supporting advanced features like custom branding and expanded automation.
