Noloco Adds Record History to Track Every Change in Agency Projects

Noloco has released Record History, a feature that logs every change made to records in projects built on its platform. The update addresses a common pain point for agencies: tracking down who made a change, when it happened, and why.

The feature displays a timeline of modifications for each record, showing the field that changed, the previous and new values, the user who made the edit, and a timestamp. It works across all data types in Noloco apps, from project deadlines and client deliverables to task assignments and budget adjustments.

Built for Client Delivery Teams

Agencies often manage dozens of projects simultaneously, with multiple team members updating the same records. A deadline shifts, a budget line changes, or a deliverable gets reassigned, and no one remembers who made the call or whether the client approved it. Record History eliminates the Slack message chains and guesswork.

The feature sits inside each record view. Users click a history icon to see the full changelog. If a project deadline moved from April 15 to April 22, the log shows the original date, the new date, who changed it, and exactly when. For agencies juggling client approvals and internal handoffs, that audit trail matters.

Noloco announced the update on LinkedIn on March 30, framing it as a solution to the "five minutes that turns into twenty" when teams try to figure out what changed in a project. The post included a demo video showing the history panel in action.

How It Works

Record History runs automatically once enabled. No setup required. When a user edits a field in any record, Noloco logs the change. The system captures edits to text fields, dates, numbers, dropdowns, linked records, and file uploads. It does not track bulk imports or automated workflow changes at launch, though Noloco has indicated those may come later.

The changelog is read-only. Users cannot delete or edit history entries, which keeps the audit trail intact. Permissions follow existing role settings; if a user can view a record, they can see its history. Admins can restrict access to sensitive records through Noloco's standard permission rules.

For agencies that bill hourly or need to justify scope changes to clients, the feature provides documentation without manual logging. If a client disputes a timeline shift, the history panel shows when the change happened and who requested it. That clarity reduces friction in client relationships.

Fits Alongside Recent Updates

Record History builds on Noloco's recent push to streamline agency operations. The platform launched native time tracking earlier this year, letting teams log hours directly in project records without third-party integrations. It also rebuilt Gantt charts to auto-adjust task dependencies when deadlines move.

Together, these updates position Noloco as a project management layer on top of Airtable, Supabase, or other databases. Agencies can build custom client portals and internal dashboards without writing code, then track changes and time in the same interface.

Record History is available now to all Noloco users at no additional cost. The feature works in both client-facing portals and internal team apps. More details are available on Noloco's website.
