Claude announced Cowork, a desktop automation feature that lets Claude access a designated folder to read, edit, and create files to complete non-technical tasks. It generates a plan, executes steps while prompting before significant actions, supports existing connectors, and can pair with Claude in Chrome. Available as a research preview to Claude Max subscribers on macOS; a waitlist is open for others.
