Make Adds Claude Opus 4.8 for Extended Agentic Workflow Execution
Make has integrated Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 across its automation platform, giving users access to the latest iteration of Claude's most capable model. The update arrives as businesses push AI systems to handle longer, more complex workflows with less human oversight.
According to early testers cited by Make, Opus 4.8 delivers noticeably stronger performance in agentic scenarios where AI needs to chain multiple decisions together. The model can execute longer sequences of steps before requiring human intervention, and maintains higher decision quality as workflows progress. Make also highlights improved progress visibility, making it easier for teams to track what the AI has completed, what's in progress, and where review is still needed.
The integration fits into Make's broader AI infrastructure. Users can access Claude Opus 4.8 through three pathways: the Make AI Toolkit, which requires no API key and offers zero-config access; the dedicated Anthropic Claude app for teams using their own API credentials and structured prompts; and Make AI Agents, the platform's agentic workflow automation system recently rebuilt for transparency and trust.
Why This Matters for Automation
The improvement in multi-step execution addresses a core limitation in AI-driven workflows: the need for constant human checkpoints. When an AI model can reliably handle five or six sequential decisions instead of two or three, entire categories of business processes become feasible to automate. Make's emphasis on "more team output without adding headcount" signals the practical goal: using AI to scale work that previously required dedicated staff to monitor each turn.
Make has been methodically expanding its AI model support. The platform added Gemini 3.5 Flash earlier this year and previously integrated Claude Opus 4.7. Each model brings different strengths; Opus 4.8's focus on agentic reliability suggests Make sees demand for automations that can run with genuine autonomy rather than just speed or cost efficiency.
The model is available now across Make's AI tools. Teams already using Make's Claude integration can switch to Opus 4.8 through their existing setup, whether that's via the AI Toolkit's no-key option or their own Anthropic API credentials.
