Kajabi shipped four community management features designed to give admins more control over how their communities function and how members engage with content.
The updates, announced on LinkedIn, focus on customization and moderation. Community admins can now tailor each channel's layout, restrict posting permissions, let members save content for later, and reorganize posts without losing engagement data.
Channel View Modes let admins match layout to content type
Admins can now choose between Feed, Gallery, or Forum view for individual channels. A recipe community can display posts in Gallery mode to emphasize images, while a coaching program might use Forum view to organize threaded discussions. Feed view works for chronological updates and announcements.
The setting applies per channel, not site-wide. That means a single community can use different layouts depending on the channel's purpose.
Admin-Only Posting restricts who can post without killing engagement
A new toggle lets admins lock down posting permissions in any channel while still allowing members to react and comment. This solves the announcement channel problem: admins want to control the message, but members still need a way to respond.
The feature works as a simple on/off switch. Turn it on, and only admins can create new posts. Members can still engage with existing content through reactions and replies.
Bookmarks give members a way to save and filter posts
Members can now bookmark posts they want to revisit. The saved posts appear in a dedicated view, filterable by group or channel. The feature addresses a common complaint in fast-moving communities: valuable content gets buried in the feed.
Bookmarks are private to each member. Admins cannot see what members have saved, and saved posts do not affect visibility or ranking for other users.
Post-moving preserves comments and reactions
Admins can relocate posts between channels without losing the conversation. When a post gets moved, all comments, reactions, and engagement data stay attached.
The feature targets accidental misplacement and evolving community structure. A post that started in a general channel but sparked a deeper discussion can be moved to a more appropriate space without forcing members to start over.
Context for the updates
All four features are live now across Kajabi's platform. The updates come as part of the company's ongoing work to differentiate community features, following their recent focus on Cofounder AI and commerce tools.
Kajabi competes in a crowded community platform space alongside tools like Circle, Mighty Networks, and Bettermode. These updates push toward more granular control rather than broad feature additions.
The company has been shipping updates in development cycles it calls Seaside and Timberline, with regular progress reports posted to its updates page. The community management features were not explicitly previewed in those roadmap posts, suggesting they arrived as incremental improvements rather than headlining releases.
