Jotform Launches AI-Powered Form Builder That Generates Forms From Text Prompts

Jotform has released a generative AI feature that allows users to create fully functional forms by describing what they need in plain language, marking a significant shift from the platform's traditional drag-and-drop interface.

The update, announced on the company's blog, positions Jotform AI as a response to growing demand for faster, more intelligent form building. Instead of manually selecting fields and configuring logic, users can type a description, such as "customer feedback survey for a coffee shop" or "event registration with payment processing," and receive a working form within seconds.

How It Works

Jotform AI generates forms based on natural language prompts. The system interprets user intent and automatically selects appropriate field types, applies basic logic, and structures the form according to best practices. Users can then refine the output using Jotform's existing editing tools.

The feature builds on Jotform's earlier AI initiatives. The platform previously launched conversational form-building capabilities and integrated with ChatGPT to enable similar functionality through OpenAI's interface.

Competing in a Crowded Market

Jotform faces competition from other form builders that have added AI features. Typeform and Tally Forms both offer intelligent form generation, while Google Forms has experimented with AI-assisted question writing.

The move reflects broader adoption of generative AI across no-code tools. Platforms like Bubble, Webflow, and Framer have integrated AI to accelerate workflows, particularly for users who want to prototype quickly without deep technical knowledge.

For Jotform, which has operated since 2006, the update represents an attempt to maintain relevance as user expectations shift. The company's pitch acknowledges that "simple isn't enough" and that "speed and intelligence are necessities" in modern form building.

Availability and Access

Jotform AI is available now to all users. The company has not disclosed pricing tiers or usage limits tied to the AI feature. Users can access the tool through the platform's main interface or via the dedicated landing page linked in the announcement.

The release follows Jotform's recent addition of organizational features like custom labels for managing forms, workflows, and AI agents, suggesting the company is building a more comprehensive AI-driven product suite.
