ElevenLabs Launches Explore for Music Discovery and Expands AI Music Capabilities.

ElevenLabs has rolled out a major update to Eleven Music, its AI-powered music generation platform, introducing a new Explore feature for discovering and remixing compositions alongside expanded production tools and interface improvements.

The company announced on LinkedIn that Explore offers a new way to discover, remix, and reprompt compositions. The feature appears designed to address the cold start problem in AI music creation, where users struggle to iterate on AI-generated tracks.

The update brings stems separation to Eleven Music, allowing users to export individual instrument tracks from generated compositions. This capability, common in digital audio workstations but still relatively rare in AI music tools, enables producers to isolate vocals, drums, bass, and other elements for further editing in professional software like Descript or traditional DAWs.

ElevenLabs also enhanced lyric generation capabilities, though specific details about the improvements were not disclosed. The platform now provides precise lyric timestamps, enabling tighter synchronization between generated audio and text, a feature particularly relevant for video production and karaoke applications.

Real-time lyric highlighting surfaces those timestamps in the interface, making it easier to navigate through compositions and identify specific moments for editing.

Beyond new features, ElevenLabs focused on usability. Section-level regeneration lets users regenerate specific portions of a track without starting over, similar to how Claude and ChatGPT allow users to regenerate parts of a conversation.

The company upgraded its history experience, making it easier to track and revisit previous generations. Smoother navigation across the interface rounds out the changes, though ElevenLabs did not detail specific improvements.

The update comes as ElevenLabs continues expanding beyond voice cloning and AI voice agents, which have seen adoption by companies like CARS24 and MasterClass. Eleven Music, launched in August with fully licensed music generation, represents the company's entry into the increasingly competitive AI music space alongside tools like Suno and Udio.

ElevenLabs positions these updates as part of building "the future of music creation," though the company has not disclosed adoption metrics for Eleven Music or announced API access for developers. The platform remains focused on direct user creation rather than powering third-party applications, at least for now.
