ElevenLabs Introduces Versioning for AI Agent Configuration Control and Compliance

ElevenLabs has launched Versioning, a control layer for its conversational AI agents that provides teams with a complete history of configuration changes and the ability to safely stage rollouts of new versions.

The feature addresses a growing need as enterprises deploy voice agents at scale: the ability to track what changed, who changed it, and how each change affected performance. Versioning brings visibility to agent updates through diff views and editor-level attribution, showing exactly what was modified in each configuration and when.

Traffic Control and Staged Rollouts

Versioning includes traffic control capabilities that let teams route a defined share of traffic to new agent versions while maintaining a stable primary path. This approach enables A/B testing of different configurations before committing to a full rollout.

Businesses can compare which version delivers better results, whether measured by customer satisfaction, resolution time, or other key metrics, then gradually shift more traffic to the winning configuration. The gradual deployment model reduces risk compared to switching all conversations to a new version at once.

Compliance and Audit Trails

For compliance teams, Versioning provides a reproducible record linking each conversation to the specific configuration version that powered it. This creates an evidence-based audit trail that simplifies investigations and regulatory responses.

The feature is particularly relevant for industries with strict compliance requirements, such as financial services and healthcare, where documenting system behavior is often mandatory. According to the announcement on LinkedIn, the reproducible record makes audits "far simpler and fully evidence-based."

ElevenLabs has been expanding its enterprise capabilities in recent months. The company partnered with Deutsche Telekom to deploy AI voice agents across Europe and counts organizations like CARS24 among its customers using agents at scale.

The addition of version control brings developer-friendly practices to conversational AI management. Teams familiar with Git-style workflows will recognize the diff views and attribution model, adapted here for agent configuration rather than source code.

Versioning is available now for ElevenLabs Agents customers. The company has not disclosed pricing details for the feature or whether it is included in existing plans or requires an upgrade.
