ElevenLabs Cuts API Pricing Up to 55% and Introduces Pay-as-You-Go Model

ElevenLabs announced significant price cuts across its API products Wednesday, reducing Text to Speech costs by up to 55%, Speech to Text by up to 45%, and ElevenAgents by up to 20%. The company also introduced pay-as-you-go pricing for self-serve developers, marking a shift toward more flexible consumption-based billing.

The price reductions apply to the company's core voice and audio products without changes to performance, quality, or support levels. ElevenLabs positions the cuts as making multilingual audio more accessible for use cases including customer support agents, healthcare assistants, media localization, and telecom systems.

Pay-as-You-Go Model Targets Production Workloads

The new pay-as-you-go option eliminates upfront commitments and scales with usage, designed for teams moving from experimentation to production. Developers can start using ElevenAPI and ElevenAgents without minimum spending requirements, then scale as demand grows. For higher volume deployments, ElevenLabs continues to offer Enterprise plans with custom pricing.

This pricing structure mirrors approaches from infrastructure providers like Supabase and Vercel, where teams can test and prototype before committing to fixed plans. The model particularly benefits developers building voice-enabled applications who face unpredictable usage patterns during early stages.

ElevenLabs has expanded aggressively in recent months, launching ElevenMusic in April and adding multimodal support to ElevenAgents across WhatsApp and web. The company crossed $500 million in annual recurring revenue this month and raised $500 million in Series D funding at an $11 billion valuation in February.

The pricing announcement comes as enterprise adoption accelerates. Earlier this year, ElevenLabs deployed voice agents for Mahindra during an auto launch and partnered with Customers Bank to roll out AI voice agents across banking operations. Lower API costs could accelerate adoption among smaller teams and startups building voice-first products.

Developers using ElevenLabs APIs can access the new pricing immediately through the company's developer portal. Teams currently on fixed plans can evaluate whether pay-as-you-go offers better economics based on their usage patterns. The company has not specified whether existing customers will be automatically migrated or need to opt into the new pricing structure.
