Mahindra Deploys ElevenLabs Voice Agents to Convert Thousands of Buyers During Auto Launch

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited turned to AI voice agents to handle a surge of customer inquiries during the launch of the XUV 7XO, avoiding the slow and expensive process of scaling call center capacity during a major automotive event.

The Indian automaker deployed ElevenLabs voice agents to make thousands of outbound calls to prospective buyers, answer questions, and route qualified leads to dealerships. The company reported higher contact rates and an approximately 8% conversion uplift compared to traditional call center operations.

Solving the Launch Spike Problem

Major product launches create intense but temporary spikes in customer inquiries. Automotive manufacturers typically face a choice: scale call center staff quickly at high cost, or accept that many potential buyers will go unreached during the critical launch window.

Mahindra's deployment demonstrates how voice AI can bridge that gap. The agents handled routine inquiries autonomously, qualifying leads based on customer responses and transferring high-intent buyers to human sales teams at dealerships. This approach let Mahindra reach more prospects without proportionally increasing headcount.

The 8% conversion uplift suggests the agents not only matched human performance on volume, but improved outcomes. Higher contact rates mean fewer missed opportunities, a persistent challenge when call centers operate at capacity during launch periods.

Beyond the Pilot

ElevenLabs has steadily built its presence in enterprise voice AI. The company crossed $500M in annual recurring revenue in May 2026, backed by investors including BlackRock and NVIDIA. It also launched a government division and announced on-premise deployment options for regulated industries.

The Mahindra case adds to a growing roster of enterprise deployments. In March, ElevenLabs partnered with Customers Bank to deploy voice agents across banking operations, handling tasks from account inquiries to loan applications. The company also introduced agent templates to help organizations scale voice AI without building custom solutions from scratch.

Voice agents are no longer confined to support and scheduling. Mahindra's use case, focused on outbound sales during a high-stakes launch, shows the technology moving into revenue-generating roles where timing and conversion matter.

Automotive brands face predictable demand spikes around launches, model years, and seasonal promotions. If voice agents can handle those peaks without sacrificing conversion rates, the cost savings and reach improvements could reshape how automakers approach customer engagement during critical windows.
