The AI news didn't rest while we were away though. Here's what else happened this week along with a new term to add to your AI vocabulary.
Explain Like I'm 5
Generative AI
It might not feel like it but generative AI is in fact a very recent innovation of AI. Even though, AI has been established in some form for years.
Traditional AI: Brilliant at spotting patterns and answering questions. You show it 1,000 photos and ask "Which ones have cats?" It'll find every single cat perfectly. But ask it to draw you a new cat It's stumped.
Generative AI: Creates entirely new things. You say "draw me a purple cat wearing a top hat" and it paints something that never existed before. It learned by studying millions of pictures, then figured out how to make brand new ones.
Traditional AI examples:
- Netflix recommending films you might like
- Your phone recognising your face to unlock
- Spam filters catching dodgy emails
- Google Maps finding the fastest route
Generative AI examples:
- Claude writing unique one liners for your cold emails
- ChatGPT creating proposal slide decks from call transcripts
- Lovable building full SaaS platforms whilst you put the kettle on
- Suno making songs from text * This is fun

The key difference: Traditional AI sorts, recognises, and predicts. Generative AI creates something completely new that didn't exist before.

🔊 On your radar
Keep your finger on the pulse of what we think is hot in the space right now 🔥
⭐️ Zapier hits 89% AI adoption with Claude across their entire remote team
👉 Why it matters: They've deployed 800+ AI agents internally—more bots than employees. It shows what's possible when you stop dabbling and go all-in on AI workflows. We've been impressed by their education strategy especially on LinkedIn. Over the next few years we see lack of knowledge as a blocker to innovation. The more people understand how to leverage these tools; the faster and better the adoption will be.
⭐️ Webflow's biggest community challenge targets the future of web motion
👉 Why it matters: $5k prize pool plus free flight Webflow Conf ticket for reimagining web interactions in the AI era. Deadline August 21st. It's perfect timing to showcase what's next beyond static landing pages. If web design is your bag, you should definitely enter.
Don't forget FlowFest 8th August in Manchester, UK. It's THE event for web designers and devs (psst, it's currently the Site of the Day on Awwwards).
⭐️ Tea dating app leaks 72,000 selfies and IDs due to exposed Firebase bucket
👉 Why it matters: Shows the risks of "vibe coding". With Microsoft at 30% AI-written code and Meta targeting 50%, these vulnerabilities will multiply. The breach was discoverable in three browser clicks, yet similar issues plagued expert human coders too. The fix isn't less AI, but smarter AI: Vercel's review agents now catch thousands of issues weekly, learning from every incident like self-driving cars learning from crashes. Here's some vibe coding security advice from Jacob Klug; the founder of the 1st Gold Partner of Lovable.

☕️ Knowledge shot - AI Evaluation Testing - Once you move out of MVP stage, you need predictability from your AI workflows. Evaluation testing is systematic quality control for AI - creating test cases with known correct answers, then running them repeatedly to measure consistency. Since generative AI naturally varies its responses you need to verify it gives reliable answers before customers use it. The goal is achieving 95%+ consistency so you can trust your AI to perform reliably in production.

🔗 Bonus: Claude Code for growth marketing
Claude Code has been getting some HYPE recently; so here's some of our favourite resources to learn and observe how best to use it.
Anthropic themselves are using it to produce 100+ creatives and Create With friend, Moritz, is programmatically generating videos

There's something raw and unobstructed when you build stuff in the terminal.
You need a Claude Pro account but included you get access to Claude Code. Try it for this month. Let us know how you get on.
💭 Final Thoughts
Vibe marketing is alive and well. This is how you manage a crisis and having Gwyneth Paltrow as your Temporary Spokesperson doesn't hurt.
Give the team a raise whoever thought of this.
With good vibes ✨
