Hey builders! 👋 Ready to ship faster than ever

In this issue we’ve packed what's important for you to know this week—from Airtable’s “just-type-what-you-want” Omni to Google’s brand-new Gems living inside Workspace.

Let's kick off by learning about RAG and then let James walk you through how to do it.

Explain Like I'm 5

RAG Retrieval Augmented Generation

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) gives AI access to a vector database filled with your docs, wikis, or webpages and grabs the most relevant chunks (think paragraphs, not whole PDFs). Those chunks are stuffed into the prompt alongside your question. The language model then generates a response, now “grounded” in the retrieved facts (in theory).

Why it matters to builders:

Up-to-date brains – Slip in yesterday’s release notes or real-time pricing tables and the model knows about them instantly.

Hallucination guardrails – Because answers must reference supplied text, creative fiction drops and factual accuracy climbs (it makes up less stuff).

Domain superpowers – Feed it niche manuals or proprietary FAQs and you’ve got an instant specialist without retraining.

the context is the RAG database that often chunked into paragraphs so the large language model can ingest

📺 Build Your Own AI Powered Database with n8n and Supabase

Follow along with James as you'll learn how to build your own AI RAG system using Supabase and n8n, without writing any code. In this tutorial we'll take you through how to create and setup your Supabase account, connect it to n8n and automatically load your documents from Google Docs into your custom vector database to make queries.

🔊 On your radar

Keep your finger on the pulse of what we think is hot in the space right now 🔥

⭐️ Airtable recently released Omni: conversational app building.

👉 This matters because: Omni lets you build, edit, and automate real business apps by describing what you need. Hand it meeting notes or docs, and it’ll structure your data, set up automations, and create interfaces. Everything is fully editable, and it works with your existing tools and security controls. Supposedly it's production ready, not just for prototypes.

⭐️ Google just put Gems in the Workspace side panel

👉 This matters because: You can now use custom or pre-made AI “Gems” right inside Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail—no app-switching. That means you can automate writing, sales prep, content reviews, and more, all in context and tailored to your files. Build your own Gem if you need something specific. It’s faster, less repetitive, and bakes AI into your daily workflow. No extra admin setup needed.

And remember; for the tinkerers out there - Google's models are free to use, so get creating.

⭐️ Cora just dropped its AI inbox assistant for everyone—no more waitlist

👉 This matters because: You get sharp email briefs twice a day, pre-written drafts in your own voice, and an AI assistant that actually learns how you handle email. It’s like a $150K chief of staff for $15/month—no more drowning in your inbox or wasting time on boring replies. Plug it in and let Cora do the grunt work. No extra setup, just less email pain.

📺 Vibe coding a viral app with Nicolas Grenié

This is a recording of a talk Nicolas Grenié, developer advocate at Typeform, gave at the Create With Meetup in Barcelona in June 2025

It's a really interesting story of how Nicolas spotted a trend for Airbnb style isometric icons and jumped on it. He used Lovable.dev to vibe code an app in a few hours, and it ended up going to #2 on Product Hunt!

In this talk Nicolas drops some serious knowledge on how to spot ideas, how to build them, and his pro tips for vibe coding.

💭 Final Thoughts

Mark Andreessen recently talked about what the future looks like

Amongst other things; this really stood out

Ownership Matters More Than Just Having a Job

As AI makes many skills easier to automate, Andreessen hints that owning part of a company (like shares or starting your own business) will be more valuable than just working for one. Building or investing in something can be more secure than relying only on a job.

Even if it's small, each little piece you collect or build will make you that bit more resilient.

With good vibes ✨
