n8n released a workflow template this week that turns product photos into multi-platform fashion content using AI-powered virtual try-on technology.
The template connects VLM Run's virtual try-on API with Telegram, Discord, and YouTube. Users upload an image of clothing, and the workflow pairs it with a stock model photo, generates a photorealistic try-on image, creates a video of the model walking in the garment, and publishes the results to selected social platforms automatically.
How It Works
The workflow accepts a clothing image as input and routes it through VLM Run's API, which handles the virtual fitting process. The system then generates two outputs: a static image showing the model wearing the item and a short video simulating a fashion runway walk.
Once the AI processing completes, the workflow pushes content to:
- Telegram channels or groups
- Discord servers
- YouTube as video posts
Users configure which platforms to target during setup. The template handles authentication, file formatting, and posting logic for each destination.
Target Use Cases
n8n positions the template for fashion brands, e-commerce sellers, and content creators who need to generate marketing assets at scale. A single product shot can become ready-to-post content across three distribution channels without manual editing or reformatting.
The workflow reduces the production timeline for digital fashion content. Brands that previously hired models, photographers, and video editors for each SKU can now generate similar outputs using only product images. The trade-off is creative control: AI-generated models and environments follow preset parameters rather than custom art direction.
This follows n8n's recent template for AI-powered design workflows via Telegram, continuing the platform's focus on visual content automation.
Technical Requirements
The template requires:
- An active n8n instance (cloud or self-hosted)
- VLM Run API access and credentials
- Authentication tokens for target platforms (Telegram bot token, Discord webhook, YouTube API key)
- Input images in supported formats (JPEG, PNG)
The workflow runs on n8n's standard execution model. Processing time depends on VLM Run's API response speed and the complexity of the garment. Video generation typically takes longer than static images.
Self-Hosted Deployment
Because n8n supports self-hosting, teams can run the entire pipeline on their own infrastructure. This matters for brands with data residency requirements or IP concerns around product imagery. The workflow handles API keys locally rather than routing through third-party middleware.
The template is available now in n8n's workflow library. Users can clone it directly into their workspace and configure platform credentials through the node settings. Full documentation, including VLM Run API setup instructions, ships with the template.
