Make announced a substantial update to its automation platform, introducing developer tools, visual programming improvements, and expanded AI capabilities that extend the platform's reach from no-code builders to professional developers.
The release centers on three major additions: Make Skills for Claude, a command-line interface for programmatic access, and a Function App that brings visual modules for common programming operations.
Developer Access Through CLI
The new Make CLI gives developers and AI agents direct terminal access to the platform, marking Make's first significant move toward serving technical users who prefer code-based workflows. The tool allows programmatic control of scenarios, a capability that positions Make alongside competitors like n8n and Zapier in supporting both visual and code-based automation approaches.
Make Skills for Claude equips Anthropic's AI assistant with deep expertise in building Make workflows and AI agents. The integration allows Claude to understand Make's visual automation syntax and generate working scenarios, similar to how GitHub Copilot assists with traditional code.

The Function App introduces visual modules for strings, math, arrays, and other data operations. Rather than writing expressions or formulas, users can now drag standardized function blocks into their scenarios. The approach mirrors Bubble's expression builder and addresses a common pain point where users struggle to construct complex data transformations within Make's existing text-based formula system.
AI Model Updates
Make added support for Claude Opus 4.7, optimized for processing dense documents, screenshots, and multi-step agent workflows. The platform also integrated OpenAI GPT-5.5, following the model's recent availability for agent work and long-context tasks. Both models expand Make's AI module options beyond standard text generation into document analysis and agentic automation.
The company also launched a new xAI app with a "Create a response" module for generating responses from text or image prompts, adding another LLM option to the platform's growing collection of AI integrations.
Workflow Management Improvements
Scheduling gained granular control with support for multiple daily run times and weekday-only triggers. Users can now set scenarios to run at 9 AM, 1 PM, and 5 PM on weekdays only, eliminating workarounds that required separate scenarios or complex filtering logic.
HTTP and Sleep modules now support dynamic labels, making it easier to identify module purposes in large scenarios. The feature addresses a usability issue where generic module names became confusing in workflows with dozens of API calls or wait steps.
Make redesigned its App Search interface for faster navigation and introduced a Module Migrator that automates replacement of deprecated modules, starting with monday.com. User role descriptions now appear when assigning permissions, and module output data can be searched directly rather than manually scanning through nested JSON structures.
Platform Expansion
The update adds Amazon DynamoDB as a native integration, giving Make users direct access to AWS's NoSQL database service without requiring custom API calls.
The release builds on Make's recent focus on transparent AI agents, continuing the platform's expansion from pure workflow automation into AI-powered process orchestration. The CLI and Function App signal a strategic shift toward serving both technical and non-technical users, while the AI model additions reflect the industry-wide push to embed LLM capabilities throughout automation platforms.
