Gatheround has released what it calls its biggest product update yet, shipping three major features across its platform and Donut integration: an AI meeting design tool, personalized user profiles, and globally-fulfilled gift card rewards.
The updates aim to reduce the time teams spend designing meetings and recognition programs while increasing engagement in remote and hybrid workplaces. The features are live now for all users.
AI Meeting Design Streamlines Session Planning
The new AI meeting design feature builds interactive live sessions automatically. Users describe their meeting goal, and the system generates session structures, activities, and timing. The tool integrates with Gatheround's existing template library, which includes formats for onboarding, team meetings, and community events.
Gatheround has been expanding its AI capabilities over recent months. The company previously launched an AI onboarding agent through its Donut integration, automating employee orientation workflows.
The AI designer follows a similar pattern: rather than manually selecting icebreakers, breakout structures, and discussion formats, teams can generate ready-to-run sessions in seconds. Gatheround positions this as a direct time-saver for people operations teams running frequent team-building or training sessions.
Donut Profiles Surface Personal Context
Donut Profiles let users create lightweight profiles that display during introductions. The profiles include role details, interests, and conversation starters, designed to move past generic small talk.
The feature builds on Donut's core function: pairing team members for casual conversations. Donut recently hit 1.5 million employee introductions and added AI-generated intro messages to skip repetitive opening questions. Profiles extend that automation by surfacing context before conversations begin.
Users fill out profile fields once. When matched for an intro, both participants see each other's profiles in Slack before their first message. The goal is to reduce the friction of starting conversations with unfamiliar colleagues, particularly in large or distributed organizations.
Gift Card Rewards Go Global
Gatheround now offers globally-fulfilled gift card rewards through Donut Shoutouts, its peer recognition feature. Previously limited by regional fulfillment challenges, the new system delivers digital gift cards to recipients worldwide.
The company integrated Donut Shoutouts into Slack earlier this year, letting teams recognize colleagues directly in their workflow. Adding tangible rewards closes the loop on recognition programs without requiring HR teams to manage manual gift distribution or region-specific vendors.
Gift cards are sent automatically when a manager or admin approves a shoutout. The feature supports various denominations and vendors, though Gatheround has not disclosed the full catalog or pricing structure.
The update comes as remote work tools compete on automation and integration depth. Gatheround's approach combines video-first meeting design with asynchronous engagement tools, positioning itself as a platform for structured connection rather than just another video conferencing add-on.
Head of CX Carrie Parker shared a 60-second recap video on LinkedIn walking through the features. All three updates are available immediately through Gatheround's standard plans. Pricing details for AI meeting design and gift card fulfillment were not disclosed in the announcement.
