Framer has released CMS 3.0, a complete redesign of its content management system aimed at users managing large collections. The update introduces full inline editing, bulk actions, and a redesigned table view that eliminates most overlay workflows.
The new table view allows users to edit statuses, toggles, references, images, icons, and colors directly within cells. Multi-cell selection enables bulk updates across multiple items at once, while keyboard navigation has been rebuilt from the ground up. Users can now copy and paste content across cells without opening separate panels for each change.
Folders, Filters, and Column Controls
Collections can now be organized into folders, addressing a long-standing limitation for teams managing dozens of content types. The update also adds filtering and search capabilities that work together, letting users drill down to specific items faster. Columns can be resized and reordered to customize the workspace, giving teams control over which fields are visible and how they're arranged.
A dedicated panel for managing fields replaces the previous sidebar approach, providing more space and a cleaner interface. Field dividers have been refined, and the menu for adding new fields has been streamlined.
The update follows Framer's addition of full Markdown support and date variables to its CMS, continuing the platform's push to improve content workflows for designers and developers.
Performance and Bug Fixes
Framer addressed several performance bottlenecks in the release. Bulk editing across multiple fields, which previously caused slowdowns, now runs significantly faster. The company also fixed inconsistencies in editing media fields and improved the speed of removing fields that are in use.
Draft and live statuses are now clearer in the interface, and editing link fields in the overlay has been improved. Field warnings across all field types have been refined to provide better feedback.
The CMS redesign positions Framer as a more viable option for teams managing content-heavy sites, competing directly with traditional headless CMS platforms. For designers building marketing sites, portfolios, or blogs, the update reduces friction in day-to-day content tasks without requiring technical workarounds.
Framer announced the update on LinkedIn and published full release notes on its updates page. The features are available now to all Framer users.
