ElevenLabs Adds WhatsApp Support to Its Omnichannel AI Agents Platform

ElevenLabs has integrated WhatsApp into its Agents platform, allowing businesses to deploy conversational AI across web, mobile, phone lines, and now WhatsApp with a single configuration.

The update means companies can design an agent once and push it to multiple channels simultaneously. ElevenLabs Agents can handle customer queries on WhatsApp through voice or chat, extending the platform's omnichannel capabilities to one of the world's most widely used messaging apps.

Unified Configuration Across Channels

The platform provides a single dashboard for managing agent behavior across all channels. Businesses can review transcripts, monitor performance metrics, and update configuration once to improve agent behavior everywhere, including WhatsApp, web chat, phone lines, and mobile apps.

This centralized approach addresses a common enterprise challenge where maintaining consistent AI behavior across different customer touchpoints requires managing separate configurations and monitoring systems. With ElevenLabs, changes to tone, knowledge base, or conversation flow apply universally.

Voice and Chat in a Single Agent

ElevenLabs Agents on WhatsApp can respond through both voice messages and text chat, adapting to how customers choose to interact. The platform uses the same conversational AI engine across modalities, meaning an agent can seamlessly handle a query that starts as text and continues as voice.

The company has been expanding its Agents platform aggressively. Recent additions include versioning for configuration control, which helps businesses maintain compliance and roll back changes, and partnerships with major enterprises like Deutsche Telekom for European deployment.

Companies like CARS24 have deployed ElevenLabs Agents to handle customer interactions across three markets, demonstrating the platform's ability to scale across regions and languages. The WhatsApp integration extends this reach to a platform with over two billion monthly active users globally.

The update positions ElevenLabs more directly against customer support platforms from Intercom and conversational AI builders like Voiceflow, which have also been adding omnichannel capabilities. The difference is ElevenLabs' focus on voice quality and multilingual support, areas where the company has built its reputation.

Businesses interested in deploying ElevenLabs Agents on WhatsApp can access the integration through the company's existing platform. Configuration follows the same workflow as other channels, with WhatsApp added as a deployment option alongside web widgets, phone numbers, and mobile SDKs.
