ElevenLabs Adds ElevenLabs MCP Agent Management Inside Claude

ElevenLabs is bringing agent administration into Claude, giving teams a way to inspect, create, and update their voice and chat agents without moving between separate dashboards or handling API credentials.

The company announced on LinkedIn that ElevenLabs MCP is now available in Claude. The integration connects Claude sessions to ElevenLabs through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, allowing authorized users to work with agents from the conversational interface where they may already be planning, reviewing, or troubleshooting deployments.

It is a practical shift in where agent operations happen. Instead of treating Claude only as an assistant for drafting prompts or discussing configurations, teams can use it as an interface to take actions on their ElevenLabs agents.

What Teams Can Manage From Claude

ElevenLabs says the MCP integration supports several common administrative tasks:

  • Review recent agent performance, bringing operational information into Claude for analysis.
  • Create new voice and chat agents without starting the process in a separate ElevenLabs interface.
  • Update agent configurations, enabling teams to make changes from an authorized Claude session.
  • Estimate LLM costs before changes go live, giving operators an indication of how a proposed configuration could affect model spending.

The cost-estimation capability could be particularly useful for smaller businesses, where a prompt, model, or workflow change can have an outsized effect on operating costs. Teams can evaluate the likely impact before applying a change rather than discovering it after deployment. ElevenLabs has not detailed which configuration variables are included in those estimates, so users will still need to validate how closely projections match production usage.

The integration also reduces the context switching involved in routine agent work. A team could review recent performance, discuss a potential adjustment in Claude, estimate its LLM cost, and then update the configuration through the same session. That does not eliminate the need for testing and internal approval processes, but it puts more of the workflow in one place.

OAuth Replaces Self-Hosted Servers and API Keys

ElevenLabs MCP uses OAuth for authentication. According to the announcement, users do not need to operate a separate server or manually manage API keys to establish the connection.

That distinction matters because MCP integrations can otherwise introduce additional infrastructure and credential-management work. OAuth provides a familiar sign-in and authorization flow, while ElevenLabs says teams remain in control of what their agents and their Claude sessions can access. Access can therefore be scoped rather than exposing an entire ElevenLabs environment indiscriminately.

For businesses without dedicated platform or security teams, removing the need to deploy an MCP server lowers the technical barrier to adoption. It also reduces the likelihood of long-lived API keys being copied into documents, automation tools, or local configuration files. Companies should still decide which employees can create or modify agents and establish a review process for production changes.

The launch follows a broader expansion of ElevenLabs’ agent platform. The company recently added more deployment destinations, including messaging and support services, as covered in ElevenLabs Expands ElevenAgents to SMS, Telegram, Intercom, and Freshdesk. It has also made its realtime conversational model generally available, detailed in ElevenLabs Makes Eleven v3 Conversational Generally Available for Realtime Voice Apps.

As those deployments multiply, centralized administration becomes more important. ElevenLabs MCP positions Claude as another operational surface for that growing agent footprint, rather than simply another channel where an agent can appear.

Frequently asked questions

What is ElevenLabs MCP?

ElevenLabs MCP is an integration that connects ElevenLabs voice and chat agent management with Claude through the Model Context Protocol. It lets authorized teams review performance, create agents, update configurations, and estimate LLM costs from Claude.

Does ElevenLabs MCP require an API key or a self-hosted server?

No. ElevenLabs says the integration uses OAuth for secure sign-in, with no server to operate and no API keys to manage. Teams retain control over what agents and Claude sessions are permitted to access.

When is ElevenLabs MCP available, and what does it cost?

ElevenLabs said the integration is now available in Claude. The announcement did not provide separate pricing information or specify whether access is limited to particular ElevenLabs or Claude plans.
