Vercel shipped updates across AI Gateway, deployments, agent development, project protection and regional compute. Builders get two new image models, a multimodal DeepSeek model, faster releases and more control over private projects.
GPT Image 2.5 Flare And Sunburst
OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.5 Flare and Sunburst are now available through Vercel’s AI Gateway. Flare prioritises faster generation and iteration, while Sunburst offers tighter control for detailed work with longer generation times. Both support complex instructions, natural lighting, transparent backgrounds and reference-image editing, following the recent addition of Muse Spark 1.3 to the AI Gateway model lineup.
Deployment Step Runs 10% Faster
The deployment step is now approximately 10% faster, saving one second on average and up to 12 seconds for large applications. Vercel combined separate routing metadata files into one manifest, and the improvement applies automatically to every build.
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash is now on AI Gateway with text and image input, reasoning, tool use and prompt caching. It has a 1 million-token context window, supports responses up to 384,000 tokens and is available through the AI SDK as deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash.
Vercel Changelog In The CLI
The new vercel changelog command lets developers and coding agents read and search the changelog from a terminal. It returns the latest five entries with full Markdown content, with options for result count, keyword search and JSON output. It requires Vercel CLI 59.6.0 or later.
Persistent Memory For Eve Agents
Eve agents can now retain context across sessions using named memory slots defined in agent/memory/ files. Before each turn, eve retrieves relevant memory and adds it to the model context; its built-in file provider stores deployed agents’ memory in a private Vercel Blob store, while custom providers are also supported.
Password Protection Per Project
Pro teams can add Password Protection to individual projects for $20 per project per month. The setting sits under Security and Deployment Protection, and switching it off stops future charges.
Free Vercel Authentication For Production
Vercel Authentication can now protect production deployments at no additional cost on every plan. Visitors must sign in with a Vercel account that has project access; production domain protection previously required the $150-per-month Advanced Deployment Protection add-on.
Vercel Sandbox Reaches All Regions
Vercel Sandbox is now available across all 20 Vercel compute regions, up from four. Every plan gets region selection, while Pro and Enterprise teams can configure failover regions. The expansion follows Vercel’s move to open Sandbox to Cursor Cloud Agents.
