Vercel Audit Log Drains Add Datadog, Splunk, and Panther Support

Vercel is making it easier for enterprise teams to monitor activity across their deployment environments. Audit Log Drains can now send events directly to Datadog, Splunk, and Panther, connecting Vercel activity with security and observability systems that many companies already use.

The three integrations join Vercel’s existing support for custom HTTPS endpoints and Amazon S3. According to the official announcement, the feature is available to customers on Enterprise plans.

An Audit Log Drain forwards every event recorded in a team’s Activity Log, along with additional audit metadata, to a selected destination. This creates a continuous stream that security, infrastructure, and compliance teams can analyze outside Vercel rather than relying exclusively on the platform’s dashboard.

Bringing deployment activity into security workflows

Audit logs are most useful when they can be correlated with information from the rest of a company’s technology stack. A change to a Vercel project, for example, may need to be reviewed alongside authentication events, infrastructure alerts, or activity from other cloud services.

The new destinations serve different but overlapping operational needs:

  • Datadog can incorporate Vercel activity into monitoring, dashboards, and alerting workflows. Vercel has published a dedicated Datadog configuration guide.
  • Splunk gives teams another way to search and analyze Vercel events alongside data from other systems. Setup details are available in Vercel’s Splunk documentation.
  • Panther is oriented toward security monitoring and analysis, allowing Vercel events to enter existing detection workflows. Vercel provides a separate Panther integration guide.

Previously, teams that wanted audit events in one of these products could use a custom HTTPS destination or route exported data through other infrastructure. Native destination options reduce the amount of connector logic that administrators may need to maintain, although teams will still need to configure the receiving service and determine how events should be retained, queried, or used for alerts.

This is a narrower enterprise update than Vercel’s recent developer-facing releases, such as its Next.js 16.3 performance and routing changes. It nevertheless addresses a practical requirement for organizations that need a centralized record of administrative and project activity.

How teams can configure a drain

Administrators can create an Audit Log Drain from the Drains area within their Vercel team settings. They select Add Drain, choose Audit Log as the data type, and then pick the destination.

The destination determines the remaining configuration process. Teams should consult the relevant Vercel documentation for the required credentials and destination-specific settings. Vercel’s general Audit Log Drains reference explains the events and metadata forwarded by the feature.

For smaller builders, the immediate impact is limited because Audit Log Drains require an Enterprise plan. For larger organizations, agencies serving regulated clients, and businesses with formal security processes, the update offers a cleaner route from deployment activity to the systems responsible for monitoring and evidence retention.

It also reflects a broader shift in deployment platforms. Shipping an application is only part of the job for enterprise customers; platforms increasingly need to fit into the controls, reporting systems, and incident-response processes surrounding that application.
