Notion Calendar Adds Outlook Integration for Unified Calendar Management

Notion Calendar has launched Outlook integration, allowing users to manage Microsoft calendars alongside their existing Google and iCloud accounts in a single interface. The update addresses a long-standing request from Outlook users and brings Notion's calendar tool closer to full cross-platform coverage.

The integration supports core calendar functions: viewing and editing events, RSVPing to meetings, searching across calendars, checking availability, and scheduling new appointments. Users can now toggle between multiple calendar providers without switching apps, a workflow improvement for teams split between Microsoft and Google ecosystems.

Addressing a fragmented calendar landscape

Notion announced the Outlook connection on LinkedIn, noting the feature had been anticipated by its user base. The company has been building out its calendar offering since acquiring Cron in 2022 and rebranding it as Notion Calendar. That tool initially focused on Google Calendar, later adding iCloud support.

The Outlook addition is particularly relevant for enterprise teams, where Microsoft 365 remains dominant. According to industry reports, Outlook holds roughly 30 percent of the email client market, with significant penetration in large organizations. By supporting Outlook, Notion Calendar becomes viable for users whose primary work infrastructure runs on Microsoft tools.

The feature works by syncing Outlook calendars into Notion Calendar's interface, where users can interact with them as they would native Google or iCloud events. This means scheduling conflicts, availability checks, and meeting RSVPs now span all three providers without requiring separate apps or browser tabs.

Competing in a crowded calendar space

Notion Calendar competes with tools like Calendly, Fantastical, and Google Calendar itself. Its differentiator has been tight integration with Notion's workspace, allowing users to link calendar events to project databases, notes, and task lists. The Outlook integration extends that utility to teams using Microsoft-first setups.

The update comes as Notion continues expanding its platform capabilities. The company recently introduced external agents with Claude and Cursor integration, signaling a push toward AI-powered workflows. Outlook support fits into that broader strategy by reducing friction for users managing work across multiple tools.

For users evaluating calendar tools, Notion Calendar now offers cross-platform parity with most competitors. The question will be whether its workspace integration justifies switching from standalone options, particularly for teams already embedded in Microsoft or Google ecosystems.
