Mighty Networks Integrates Kit for Advanced Member Communication Lifecycle

Community managers using Mighty Networks can now extend member communication beyond the first welcome message, thanks to a deeper integration with email platform Kit (formerly ConvertKit).

The integration allows hosts to sync all member contacts and tags to Kit with a single click, enabling strategic communication sequences that cover the full member lifecycle, from onboarding through re-engagement.

Beyond the First Week

Ashley Lagrow, community manager for DA+, described the integration as the missing piece in her member communication strategy. While Mighty Networks already includes built-in tools like welcome checklists, pop-ups for new members, and automated direct messages upon joining, these features only address the entry point.

The challenge comes later. What happens after the first week? When someone goes quiet for a month? When a free trial is about to end? Those scenarios require planned, strategic communication that goes beyond platform notifications.

With Kit now directly integrated, Lagrow can implement sequences she had mapped out for weeks, including:

  • First 30 days for new members
  • First full year milestones
  • 14-day free trial members
  • Re-engagement campaigns for members who have dropped off

"Great content gets people in the door," Lagrow wrote in a LinkedIn post. "Strategic communication is what keeps them there."

Training Expected Behaviors

The integration addresses a common assumption among community builders: that strong content and creative programming will automatically drive engagement. According to Lagrow, this rarely happens without intentional guidance.

Members need structured onboarding that teaches them where things live, why they matter, and how to build the habit of showing up. This requires communication that extends well past the first login, spanning weeks and months as members settle into their roles.

Mighty Networks' native tools handle the welcome experience, but lifecycle marketing demands more sophisticated sequencing, tagging, and triggered messaging based on member activity and status. That's where the Kit integration comes in.

By syncing member data in one click, community managers can segment audiences, trigger emails based on behavior, and maintain consistent touchpoints without manual list management. The integration effectively turns Mighty Networks into the source of truth for member status, while Kit handles the email layer.

Context for Community Builders

Mighty Networks has been steadily expanding its toolset for community managers over the past year. The platform introduced an AI Co-Host feature to help manage member engagement at scale, and recently launched Community Design, a framework for structuring member experiences.

The Kit integration fits into this broader push toward professional community management, where retention and lifecycle engagement matter as much as initial sign-ups. For platforms competing in the community space, including Circle and Skool, the ability to connect member data with email marketing tools has become table stakes.

Lagrow's use case also highlights a shift in how professional community managers approach their work. Rather than relying solely on in-platform features, they're building tech stacks that combine community platforms with email automation, analytics, and CRM tools to create cohesive member journeys.

The integration is available now to all Mighty Networks users. Community managers interested in implementing similar lifecycle sequences will need active accounts on both platforms.
