Make introduces conversational automation builder
Make has launched Make Skills for Claude, a plugin that turns Claude into an automation assembly assistant. The tool allows users to describe workflows in natural language while Claude handles app selection, module validation, OAuth connections, and deployment to a Make account.
The release enters open beta today at skills.make.com, giving Make's user base access to over 3,500 integrated apps through conversational prompts rather than the platform's traditional visual builder.
Make Skills for Claude runs more than 100 Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and validates configuration before scenarios reach production. The plugin is designed to catch errors early, addressing a common pain point in no-code automation where misconfigured modules often break only after deployment.
How the plugin works
Users describe their desired automation to Claude in plain text. The AI assistant searches Make's app directory, selects appropriate modules, and validates each connection point before assembly. When OAuth is required, Claude initiates the authentication flow. Once validated, the scenario deploys directly to the user's Make account without manual module configuration.
The system bridges natural language input with Make's underlying technical requirements. Rather than requiring users to know which specific modules or API endpoints to use, Claude translates intent into executable workflows.

This follows Make's recent pattern of AI-native features, including their MCP server integration and expanded model support.
Open beta and feedback loop
Make is releasing the plugin in open beta to gather user feedback and refine the tool before a full launch. The company is positioning this as a collaborative development phase rather than a finished product release.
The move puts Make in direct competition with other automation platforms exploring conversational interfaces. Zapier and n8n have both invested in AI-assisted workflow creation, though approaches vary. Make's implementation emphasizes pre-deployment validation and OAuth handling, technical friction points that often require manual troubleshooting in traditional builders.
By routing automation creation through Claude, Make is testing whether conversational AI can reduce the learning curve for complex integrations. The bet is that describing desired outcomes in natural language will prove faster than learning Make's visual syntax, particularly for users new to automation.
The open beta gives Make real-world usage data to refine Claude's understanding of Make's module library and common workflow patterns. Users can submit feedback directly through the skills.make.com interface.
