Gatheround announced on LinkedIn its largest product update to date, introducing AI-driven meeting design tools, profile-based introductions, and global gift card fulfillment through its Donut integration. The update targets HR teams and community managers looking to automate people programs while increasing engagement.
The centerpiece of the release is an AI meeting design tool that lets users build interactive live sessions in Gatheround without manually scripting agendas. The feature generates structured meeting flows based on brief prompts, a capability Gatheround previously introduced for agenda building. According to Head of CX Carrie Parker in the announcement video, the tool is designed to reduce prep time for facilitators who run recurring team meetings or onboarding sessions.
Donut Profiles and Personalized Intros
Gatheround also shipped Donut Profiles, a new layer for its Slack-based introduction tool. Users can now populate profiles with personal details like hobbies, work history, or conversation starters. When Donut pairs colleagues for virtual coffee chats or onboarding intros, it surfaces relevant profile information to jumpstart conversations. The feature builds on AI-generated intro messages Gatheround rolled out earlier this year.
The Donut Profiles feature addresses a common friction point in remote intros: the awkward silence after "so, what do you do?" By surfacing shared interests or background upfront, the tool aims to move conversations past surface-level pleasantries faster.
Gift card rewards through Donut Shoutouts now support global fulfillment, allowing companies to recognize employees across regions without navigating local payment systems. The feature integrates with existing Shoutouts workflows, where team members publicly recognize peers in Slack channels. Admins can attach gift card rewards to shoutouts, which are fulfilled through third-party providers.
Gatheround positions the update as a way to consolidate people operations tools. Companies using separate platforms for meeting facilitation, employee recognition, and team introductions can now manage those workflows through the Donut and Gatheround ecosystem. The company has been pushing deeper into HR automation since Donut acquired Gatheround in late 2024, most recently demoing an AI onboarding agent that handles new hire tasks.
The update is live for all Gatheround and Donut users. Pricing details for the AI meeting design and gift card fulfillment features were not disclosed in the announcement. The company has historically offered tiered plans based on team size and feature access.
For HR teams already stretched thin, the update represents a bet that AI-assisted workflows can replace manual coordination without sacrificing quality. Whether auto-generated meeting agendas and profile-matched intros feel personal or algorithmic will likely depend on how much customization users invest upfront.
