Databutton has deployed early access to Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview-05-06 model across its entire user base, the AI-powered development platform announced on LinkedIn this week. The update brings improvements to the platform's AI agent capabilities, particularly in code transformation, editing, and building complex agentic workflows.
The deployment makes Databutton one of only two platforms with access to the new model's internal reasoning features. According to the announcement, only Databutton and Cursor currently offer this capability to users.
Performance Gains on WebDev Arena
Databutton claims the enhanced model now leads the WebDev Arena Leaderboard, surpassing the previous version by 147 Elo points. WebDev Arena is a benchmarking platform that evaluates AI coding assistants on real-world web development tasks.

The platform's focus on AI-driven development has led to several feature additions in recent months. Databutton previously added native database and authentication to all new applications, reducing the need for external integrations when building production-ready software.
What's New in Code Generation
The Gemini 2.5 Pro integration brings three core improvements:
Enhanced code writing capabilities that extend beyond initial generation into transformation and editing. This allows the AI agent to refactor existing code and adapt implementations as requirements evolve.
Internal reasoning that makes the agent's decision-making process more transparent. Users can better understand why the AI chose specific implementation approaches, which should reduce back-and-forth when building complex features.
Improved agentic workflows for handling multi-step development tasks. The model can now manage more complex sequences of operations, from setting up data models to implementing business logic and user interfaces.
The update is available immediately to all Databutton users at no additional cost. Users building with the platform can access the new model through the same interface they use for existing AI-assisted development workflows.
Databutton competes in the AI-powered development space alongside tools like Lovable, Bolt, and v0. The platform differentiates itself by focusing on full-stack application development rather than component generation or code completion alone.
The timing of the rollout positions Databutton as an early adopter of Google's latest model improvements, though broader availability of Gemini 2.5 Pro across other platforms will likely follow in the coming weeks.
