Circle Reaches 12 Million Users, Ships AI Agents and Custom App Builder in 2025

Circle Closes 2025 With Major AI and Builder Releases

Community platform Circle reached 12 million users in 2025 while shipping 13 major product releases and over 200 smaller improvements, CEO Sid Yadav announced on LinkedIn. The updates span AI automation, content creation tools, and community infrastructure, positioning Circle as a full-stack platform for creators and businesses building membership communities.

The company also reached profitability this year and plans to hire for 50-plus roles in 2026, with most positions focused on engineering and design.

AI Takes Center Stage

Circle's AI releases this year included AI Agents, AI Workflows, AI Copilot, and AI Summaries. The AI Agents feature, previously covered as part of Circle's G2 awards announcement, allows community owners to deploy automated assistants that can answer member questions, moderate discussions, and surface relevant content. AI Workflows enable creators to automate repetitive tasks like member onboarding sequences and content recommendations.

AI Copilot acts as a writing assistant for community managers drafting posts and responses, while AI Summaries automatically generate recaps of long discussion threads and live event recordings. The AI features integrate directly into Circle's interface rather than requiring separate tools or platforms.

Builders for Websites, Apps, and Emails

Circle shipped three major builder tools this year. The Website Builder lets community owners create marketing sites and landing pages without leaving the platform. The Custom App Builder enables fully branded mobile and desktop apps, competing directly with platforms like Mighty Networks that have long offered white-label app experiences.

The Visual Email Builder replaces Circle's previous templated email system with a drag-and-drop editor for newsletters and automated campaigns. Community owners can now design emails that match their brand without writing HTML or using external tools like Mailchimp or ConvertKit.

Circle also introduced a Push Notifications Builder that lets creators send targeted alerts to members through the Desktop App or Custom Apps, addressing one of the most-requested features from enterprise customers running large-scale membership programs.

Infrastructure and Experience Updates

The Desktop App brings Circle's community experience to Mac and Windows, with native notifications and better performance than the web version. Yadav noted in his post that the desktop experience was designed for power users who spend significant time managing their communities.

Circle Connect, another infrastructure release, allows community owners to integrate third-party tools directly into their Circle spaces. The feature expands on Circle's MCP integration launched earlier this year, which connected communities to AI tools and external platforms.

The platform also redesigned its video player and live streaming interface. Voice Notes, a new content format, lets members record and share audio messages directly in community threads, similar to features in Discord and Slack.

Competing in the Creator Economy

Circle's year-end recap positions the company against platforms like Skool, Kajabi, and Substack, which also target creators building paid membership communities. The addition of AI automation and no-code builders reflects a broader trend in the creator economy, where platforms compete on how much infrastructure they can provide without requiring technical skills or third-party integrations.

Yadav's announcement emphasized transformation over engagement metrics, a positioning that contrasts with social platforms optimized for time spent scrolling. Circle communities focus on courses, coaching programs, and professional development rather than casual social interaction.

The company's profitability and hiring plans suggest it will continue expanding its feature set in 2026. With 12 million users across its customer base, Circle has become one of the larger independent community platforms, though it remains smaller than established players like Discord, which serves over 150 million monthly users across gaming and creator communities.
