Bubble has added an AI-powered workflow generator that lets builders create app logic by describing what they want in plain language. The feature, announced on LinkedIn, is now available to all apps with access to the Bubble Agent.
The new "Generate with AI" option appears directly in the Workflow tab. Builders type a description of the desired behavior, and the Agent determines the appropriate event trigger, sequences the necessary actions, and configures the logic. The feature is designed to accelerate workflow creation for both new users learning the platform and experienced builders working on complex logic.
How It Works
The AI workflow generator operates within Bubble's existing visual workflow editor. When a builder describes a workflow in natural language, the Agent analyzes the request and generates the corresponding workflow structure. This includes selecting the right event type (such as a button click or data change), ordering actions in the correct sequence, and applying conditional logic where needed.
The feature builds on Bubble's existing AI Agent capabilities, which previously added Figma import support and direct access to the Issue Checker for automated debugging. The Agent uses Bubble's workflow structure and action library to ensure generated workflows follow platform conventions.
Bubble's approach differs from code-generating AI tools by maintaining visual workflows rather than producing raw code. This keeps the output consistent with Bubble's no-code paradigm and ensures that builders can inspect, modify, and understand the generated logic without needing to parse generated code.
Context and Implications
The workflow generator addresses one of the steeper learning curves in no-code platforms: translating desired app behavior into the platform's logic structure. New builders often struggle with sequencing actions correctly or choosing the right event triggers. Experienced builders spend time on repetitive workflow patterns.
Bubble's timing aligns with broader industry momentum around AI-assisted development. Competitors like Webflow and Framer have added AI features for layout and design, while code-focused tools like Cursor and Windsurf generate full applications from prompts. Bubble's workflow generator occupies a middle ground: automating logic creation while preserving the visual workflow model.
The feature is limited to apps with Agent access. Bubble has been gradually rolling out Agent capabilities since introducing the tool earlier this year, and not all accounts currently have access to the full Agent feature set. The company has not specified when universal access will be available.
For builders already using the Agent, the workflow generator integrates with other Agent features like undo and redo controls, which shipped in recent updates. This suggests Bubble is positioning the Agent as a comprehensive AI assistant rather than a collection of isolated tools.
The update also reflects Bubble's focus on reducing friction for both technical and non-technical builders. As more users experiment with AI-generated workflows, the company will likely gather data on which workflow patterns are most commonly requested and where the Agent performs well or struggles. That feedback loop could inform future improvements to the Agent's workflow generation accuracy and the types of logic it can handle.
Bubble continues to expand its no-code platform with AI-driven features aimed at reducing the time and technical knowledge required to build functional web applications. The workflow generator is available now to apps with Agent access through the Workflow tab interface.
