Leeds AI Week 2026
Leeds AI Week 2026 is a student-led, week-long exploration of artificial intelligence across business, education, climate, software architecture, engineering and healthcare. Hosted by Leeds University Union (LUU) and coordinated with LUU AI Hub, LUU societies and student leaders, this event brings together students, researchers and local AI practitioners to showcase how AI is applied across disciplines. The season runs Monday 9 February to Sunday 15 February 2026, with a mix of executive panels, expert talks, hands-on workshops and a full AI MedTech conference. Expect a vibrant in-person program across campus venues including Maurice Keyworth SR (G.31), Helix (Level 7), and the EC Stoner Building, designed to connect theory with practical, hands-on experimentation.
What to expect:
- In-depth panels on AI’s impact across sectors (business, education, environment, healthcare) and its implications for employability and society.
- Developer-focused sessions exploring LLMs, agents, and local models, including practical workshops.
- Hands-on workshops that demonstrate applied AI concepts like Fine-Tuning (PEFT) and Digital Twins for engineering.
- A dedicated AI MedTech Conference day focused on patient care, diagnostics and drug discovery powered by AI.
- A student-led, collaborative atmosphere with opportunities for networking, project demonstrations and peer learning.
