Lovable Design Systems Bring Brand Consistency to Every Paid Plan

Lovable is making Design Systems available across every paid plan, giving teams a way to carry their visual identity from one AI-built project to the next. The change targets a persistent problem in vibe coding: generating an application is fast, but making every generated screen look like it belongs to the same company can still require substantial cleanup.

The company announced on LinkedIn that customers can create a design system from scratch with Lovable or provide existing materials for the platform to interpret. Supported inputs mentioned in the announcement include brand guidelines, screenshots and Figma files.

The intended outcome is straightforward: new team projects should begin with the organization’s established visual language rather than receiving brand corrections after the initial build.

From Prompt-Level Styling to Shared Rules

AI app builders can produce polished interfaces quickly, but consistency becomes harder when multiple people are creating separate products. One builder may describe a color as “dark blue,” another may request “navy,” and a third may upload a reference screenshot. Even when each result looks acceptable in isolation, the collection can drift away from a coherent brand.

Design Systems gives Lovable teams a shared starting point. Instead of repeatedly explaining typography, colors and other visual preferences inside individual project conversations, teams can establish the system once and apply it across their work. Lovable has not yet detailed every type of design rule that can be extracted or controlled, so the precise scope of the system should not be assumed from the announcement alone.

The ability to work from existing assets is particularly relevant for small businesses that already have a website, brand document or product mock-up but lack a formally maintained component library. Uploading those references could reduce the translation work between designers, founders and the people building an app.

There are two broad workflows:

  • Build from scratch: A team can develop its design system alongside Lovable, which may suit a new product without established brand standards.
  • Extract from existing work: A team can upload guidelines, screenshots and Figma files, allowing Lovable to derive a system from materials the business already uses.

That distinction matters. The feature is not limited to companies with mature design operations; it is also positioned as a way to turn loosely organized brand references into reusable project guidance.

Why This Matters for Teams

The larger shift is from project-by-project generation toward workspace-level governance. Lovable has increasingly been adding capabilities intended to make generated applications viable beyond early prototypes, as Create With noted when the company expanded from an app builder into a business-ready platform. Design consistency is another part of that transition.

For agencies, the feature could help separate and reuse standards for different clients, although Lovable’s brief announcement does not explain how many systems a workspace can maintain or how they are assigned. Internal product teams may find it useful for keeping dashboards, portals and operational tools aligned with customer-facing products. Founders working without a dedicated designer could use it to reduce visual drift as an application grows.

Important implementation details remain unclear. Lovable has not said whether changes to a design system automatically propagate to existing projects, whether teams can lock individual rules, or what permissions are available to workspace administrators. It also has not announced separate pricing for the feature. The only plan detail provided is that Design Systems is included with every paid Lovable plan.

Even with those open questions, the update addresses a practical bottleneck. AI can shorten the first build dramatically, but repeated visual corrections still consume time. Moving brand decisions upstream gives Lovable a better chance of producing interfaces that are usable by a team, not merely convincing in a one-off demo.

Frequently asked questions

What is Lovable Design Systems?

Lovable Design Systems is a feature for applying shared brand and visual guidance across projects. Teams can create a system with Lovable or have one extracted from brand guidelines, screenshots and Figma files.

Which Lovable plans include Design Systems?

Design Systems is available on every paid Lovable plan. The announcement did not provide additional pricing details or indicate that a separate add-on is required.

Can Lovable create a design system from existing brand assets?

Yes. Lovable says teams can upload brand guidelines, screenshots and Figma files to extract a system from their existing work. The company has not yet specified the exact rules, components or file constraints supported by that extraction process.
