Framer Launches Dynamic Optimization for Instant Site Publishing at Scale

Framer has rolled out Dynamic Optimization, a new publishing system that drastically reduces optimization time for websites built on its platform. The update promises optimization in seconds, even for large sites, and eliminates the performance hit that came with adding new pages.

The change addresses a common friction point for teams managing frequently updated sites. Under the previous system, adding pages to a site could slow down the optimization process, creating bottlenecks for teams publishing content at scale. With Dynamic Optimization, adding pages has no impact on optimization time, making it easier to maintain large, content-heavy sites without sacrificing speed.

How It Works

Framer's engineering blog post details the technical underpinnings of the update. The new system uses traffic-aware pre-rendering, which prioritizes optimization for the pages that actually receive visits. Instead of optimizing every page upfront, Framer now renders pages on demand based on real user traffic patterns.

This approach shifts the optimization workload from publish time to runtime, allowing sites to go live faster while still delivering optimized experiences to visitors. For teams publishing multiple times a day or managing sites with hundreds of pages, the time savings compound quickly.

Impact on Workflows

The update is particularly relevant for teams using Framer's CMS to manage blog posts, product pages, or other dynamic content. Previously, large CMS collections could slow down publishing. Now, adding 50 blog posts or 100 product pages has the same optimization time as adding one.

This follows Framer's recent push to expand automation capabilities, including plugin support for page creation. Together, these updates position Framer as a more viable option for teams managing complex, frequently updated sites alongside traditional website builders like Webflow and Wix.

The update is live for all Framer users. Existing sites will benefit automatically; no migration or manual updates are required. For teams evaluating Framer as a no-code website builder, Dynamic Optimization removes a previous barrier to scaling content operations on the platform.
