ElevenLabs has launched a Music Marketplace inside ElevenCreative, expanding its creator economy beyond voice to AI-generated music. The new platform allows creators to produce, publish, and monetize music tracks, earning revenue when other creators and businesses download or remix their work.
The company announced the marketplace on LinkedIn, positioning it as a direct extension of its Voice Marketplace model, which has already paid out more than $11 million to creators. For marketers and businesses, the catalog provides licensed, commercially ready music for use in ads, content, events, and products.
From Voice to Music
ElevenLabs built its reputation on realistic AI voice synthesis, powering everything from audiobooks to conversational agents. The Voice Marketplace gave creators a way to license their voice profiles for use in other projects, creating a revenue stream tied to usage rather than upfront fees.
The Music Marketplace applies the same model to audio production. Creators generate tracks using ElevenLabs' tools, then list them in the marketplace. When a business or another creator downloads or remixes the track, the original creator earns a share of the transaction. The platform handles licensing, ensuring all music is cleared for commercial use.
ElevenLabs did not disclose pricing tiers or revenue splits for the new marketplace. The company also did not specify whether creators retain full ownership of their tracks or if ElevenLabs takes a platform fee similar to other creator marketplaces.
Commercial Licensing for Businesses
For businesses, the Music Marketplace offers an alternative to traditional stock music libraries. All tracks are licensed for commercial use, meaning marketers can integrate them into campaigns, video content, or product launches without navigating complex rights negotiations.
The catalog is designed to support a range of use cases:
- Advertising and branded content: Background music for social media ads, explainer videos, or product demos.
- Events and presentations: Tracks for webinars, conferences, or corporate events.
- Podcasts and streaming content: Intro and outro music, or ambient audio for narrative shows.
ElevenLabs positions the marketplace as a faster, more flexible option than commissioning custom music or licensing from agencies. Businesses can browse, preview, and download tracks on demand, with all legal clearances handled by the platform.
A Growing Creator Economy
The Music Marketplace builds on ElevenLabs' broader push into creator tools. The company recently launched Flows, a unified pipeline for managing voice and audio projects across teams, and partnered with Deloitte to deploy conversational agents at enterprise scale.
By opening up music generation to a marketplace model, ElevenLabs is betting that creators want more than just tools. They want distribution, audience access, and predictable revenue tied to usage rather than one-off sales.
The $11 million already paid to voice creators suggests the model works, at least for audio. Whether it translates to music depends on demand from businesses and how competitive the marketplace becomes as more creators join. ElevenLabs has not shared metrics on how many creators currently participate in the Voice Marketplace or how many tracks are available at launch for music.
What's Next
The Music Marketplace is now live inside ElevenCreative. Creators can start uploading tracks immediately, and businesses can browse the catalog for licensed music. ElevenLabs has not announced plans for additional features, such as advanced search filters, genre-specific collections, or AI-powered track recommendations.
For now, the focus is on proving that AI-generated music can support a sustainable creator economy, one remix at a time.
