This Spring 2026 meeting is designed to move AI from a peripheral topic to a core strategic priority for NRENs, with a focus on real-world applications, governance, and shared learnings. Attendees will explore how autonomous agents could transform workflows beyond simple chatbots, while also diving into AI-driven network management, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency. Key themes include: - Agentic AI: examining the shift from scripted bots to autonomous agents and their potential impact on research and education infrastructures. - Intelligent Networks: leveraging AI for network monitoring, optimization, and proactive maintenance. - AI Policy & Governance: navigating the evolving regulatory landscape, ethics, and policy considerations for AI in the research and education sector. - Community Showcases: insights from RedIRIS and other NREN hosts on home-grown AI initiatives and pilots. Whether your organization is already delivering AI services or is in the early stages of strategic planning, this meeting offers a collaborative space to share best practices and help define the future service portfolio of the GÉANT community. The event is hybrid, with in-person attendance in Madrid facilitating networking opportunities, alongside virtual participation for our global members.
