RAI @CHI2026: Responsible and Human Centred AI Across Borders

RAI UK is teaming up with the ACM CHI conference to host a dedicated meetup in Barcelona during CHI 2026, the premier international conference on Human-Computer Interaction. CHI 2026 runs 13–17 April 2026 at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona, and this RAi UK meetup will sit at the intersection of technology, people, and values, focusing on responsible AI (RAI) across borders. The event brings together international HCI researchers and practitioners working across value-sensitive design, human-centered AI, ethics, explainability, trustworthy AI, sustainability and equitability to shape CHI’s perspectives and potential in RAI. Expect an interactive town hall format featuring community standups, democratic topic selection, and structured roundtable discussions. Attendees will collaborate to produce actionable outcomes: network connections, knowledge sharing, and concrete opportunities for collaboration within the CHI community around RAI. The meetup aims to establish priorities, forge meaningful connections, and catalyse next‑generation RAI research that centers human values and democratic principles in an era of AI transformation.
