Future-Proof: Navigating Your Career and Life in the Age of AI

This workshop, **Future-Proof: Navigating Your Career and Life in the Age of AI**, offers a rigorous, economically grounded assessment of the AI landscape with a focus on practical strategies for professionals to leverage AI rather than be displaced by it. Taking place in Chiang Mai on February 7, 2026, the event is led by Dr. Stefan Rucman, an expert in innovative technology and sustainability, who guides participants through understanding the intersection of automation, human skills, and economic value. Attendees will explore the difference between technological capability and economic viability, learning about the "Jagged Frontier" concept which demystifies AI's strengths and limitations. The session discusses the realities of displacement versus augmentation, emphasizing that AI tends to automate tasks rather than whole jobs. The workshop delves into the technical workings of Large Language Models (LLMs), highlighting risks like hallucination and brittleness that necessitate human oversight. Sustainability is also addressed, examining the environmental and economic costs of AI development. A key focus is identifying the "Human Premium," or those uniquely human skills AI cannot replicate, such as high-stakes accountability, complex context switching, and novelty generation. Through interactive exercises, participants map out which job aspects are safe and how to double down on their economic value. Practical strategies for career adaptation include treating AI as an "incompetent intern" needing precise guidance (prompt engineering) and adopting the "Centaurs" strategy, combining human intuition with AI speed for competitive advantage. The workshop concludes with attendees drafting a personal tech-audit to automate a workflow and upgrade a human skill. Designed for professionals, freelancers, business owners, and career-changers worried about automation, this 2.5-hour workshop delivers actionable insights without hype, focusing on sustainable and economically viable AI adoption.
